This is a new feature I will try to keep up with on this blog, if for nothing else, my own entertainment and for future reference. Right now, Elijah likes to ask me something every night about Star Wars. Most of his questions and comments are classic. Some are more insightful and thoughtful than others, but all are a joy for me to respond to. Here is one for tonight.

Elijah asks, “When Obi-Wan Kenobi was fighting Darth Maul and lost his light saber, why didn’t he use the force to get both his light saber and Qui-gon’s light saber, so that he could fight Darth Maul better?”

My response: “I think that because the hole was so far down where Obi-Wan was hanging on for dear life, his light saber was outside ‘force’ range. Not to mention Obi-Wan knew that he didn’t need both light sabers to surprise and kill Darth Maul.”

Any other good explanations?
