Jordan to James?

By

Much thanks to my brother-in-law, Sean, for sending this along. It certainly got me thinking. I will offer some thoughts on Jordan and James tomorrow.

Wow is right. I am so glad I saw this, thanks Joe (and Sean.)

This video captures many of my feelings about the new “era” of basketball that has taken hold. I feel like the fierce rivalries, legendary match-ups, and (maybe most of all) the reverence of the game is just lacking compared to just 15 years ago.
I still see it in college hoops, but something is missing at the professional level in the U.S.

Thanks again for posting this video and props to the people who made it.

I read on ESPN today that Jordan said he had no involvement with that commercial:

Just wanted to make sure you saw that!

Now that you say that Lar, I think I should have mentioned that. I guess I just figured everyone was like me and remembered that old school Jordan commercial. I should remind myself that not everyone watched as much tv as I back in the day!

Brad, you are on point with that assessment as well. I spent a little over a week in vet camp with the Heat a number of years ago and remember Coach Riley talking about the fraternity of NBA players that was ruining the old rivalries. At least we still have Boston vs. LA though…

Thank You

I appreciate you taking the time to check in with me and to even scroll down to this, the end of the page. Considering you made it all the way to the bottom of the page, I am thinking you either found the material so compelling that you wanted to read more or found it so weak that you kept looking for something worth your time! I hope it was the former. Thanks again.
