I have said time and again that I thoroughly enjoy watching football, but more and more, the long-term effects of playing the game at a very high level seem to be too high. We can’t know at this point whether or not the suicide of former Bears safety Dave Duerson fits into that category, but considering the fact that his brain is being donated for study to The Center for the Study of Traumatic Encephalopathy, we should find out. I hope that isn’t the case, but after all I have read as of late, I sadly would not be surprised.
